Former North Haven Senior Center Employee Charged with Larceny

On March 23, North Haven Police arrested 53 year old Susan Tienken-Jung, former North Haven Senior Center program coordinator, charging her with 56 counts of larceny in the first degree and forgery in the third degree.

The arrest concludes an extensive criminal investigation that was initiated during the summer months of 2017 after irregularities were noted in a privately owned Senior Center bank account. As the program coordinator at the senior center, Tienken-Jung would assist a group of seniors in reconciling statements and balances relating to this bank account, but she was not authorized to check writing privileges.

It is alleged that between 2012 and 2017, Tienken-Jung had purposely misappropriated upward to $23,700 in funds belonging to members of the Senior Center, for personal gain, by forging the names of various Senior Center Finance Committee members.

Tienken-Jung was arrested, processed, and released after posting a $25,000 court order bond with an arraignment date of Thursday, April 12 in the Meriden Superior Court.
