03/14/2018 12:00 AMChief of Police Jack Drumm of the Madison Police Department and Chief Vin DeMaio of the Clinton Police Department have announced open registration for the joint Senior Academy six-week course, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 4. Six sessions will alternately be held at each police department.
The Senior Academy course, which is free of charge and is open to all residents of Clinton and Madison over the age of 55 years, will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The course includes : Introduction to the Madison Police Department by Chief Drumm and Introduction to the Clinton Police Department by Chief DeMaio; K-9 Narcotics Demonstration; Crime Prevention Tips; 911 Communications—What Happens When You Call Dispatch; Animal Control Officer Presentations; Personal & Home Safety Tips; Identity Theft Protection; Crimes Against Senior Citizens— Protect Against Fraud, Scams & Internet Crime; General Traffic Safety—Radar Units and How They Work; SWAT Demonstration Presentation & Equipment Display; and Madison Ambulance Association Guidelines.
Officers from both departmentswill share their expertise and experiences, in addition to guest speakers.
