03/07/2018 11:01 PMThe Clinton Rotary Club recently celebrated The Morgan School senior Juan Avila as its February Student of the Month. His nominating teacher, Jessica Mularski, said Avila is extremely involved in both his school and community. He was the captain of The Morgan School’s championship soccer team for three years. He is also active in indoor track. Committed to the youth of Clinton, Avila volunteers at Brad English Soccer Training camps and the Clinton Youth Soccer Program. He continues his community service as a member of the Husky Leaders and a member of the National Technical Honor Society. He frequently works with his principal, Keri Hagness, and Morgan teachers to help create videos, commercials, and other forms of media to better the school community. Besides helping his school and athletic communities, Avila volunteers at Grace Fellowship Church where he runs the audio/visual equipment. He is also an active member of the church’s youth group. Avila exemplifies Rotary International’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
