East Haven High School (EHHS)’s Gallery 35, located just outside the auditorium of the high school, presents its latest exhibit of student artwork called Eye of the Beholder, through Tuesday, May 15.

Gallery 35 Director and EHHS art teacher Matt Stevens said there is a great variety of artwork displayed, with students interpreting the theme in their individual way. He was pleased that even students who were not taking art classes saw the posters around the school and submitted pieces.

“We got a nice stack of about 100 pieces of artwork, and it was a juried show, so we picked about the top 40,” Stevens said.

Stevens said he’s in contact with two professional artists to see if they want to show their work as the gallery’s next exhibit.

“Sculpture, student artwork, illustrators; we’re trying to get the whole gamut,” Stevens said.
