Boy Scout Troop 491 and the Great Madison Blackout

Boy Scout Troop 491 had planned an open house and troop meeting for the night of Feb. 5 at American Legion Hall. With the downtown power outage affecting the Legion Hall, the troop needed to completely re-design the open house at the start of the meeting. The evening ended up being a success. The scouts had a great turn out and were able to be prepared for the lack of power, which included a bonfire, holding the ceremony outside, and teaching cub scouts activities, opportunities, and the history of Boy Scout Troop 491.
