Killingworth Eagle Scout Doug Brown Honored for KES Cougar Cub Trail Work

The Killingworth Conservation Commission presented Eagle Scout Doug Brown with a certificate of appreciation for constructing the Cougar Cub Trail Kiosk at the Killingworth Elementary School’s trail entrance. Brown earned his Eagle Scout Award for this project. He also cleaned up the existing trail created earlier by Eagle Scout Garrett Murphy.

A celebration was held on Nov. 25. In attendance were Doug Brown and his family, members of Killingworth’s Boy Scout Troop 18, First Selectman Cathy Iino, and members of the Killingworth Conservation Commission. Following the ceremony, a number of the attendees walked the trail escorted by Brown.

Brown is currently a freshman at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island where he is studying architecture. Members of the Conservation Commission are Susan Dean (Chair), Joan Gay (Vice Chair), Stephanie Warren (Secretary), Marilyn Campbell, James Fullmer, Brandy Richards, and Lewis Scranton.
