Two Arrested Following Killingworth Bank Robbery


On Jan. 27 at approximately 12:50 p.m., troopers from Troop F-Westbrook responded to 184 Route 81, TD Bank for a reported armed robbery.

Upon arrival, troopers learned that two male suspects entered TD Bank and demanded money from the tellers. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash the two male suspects fled the area in a blue Volkswagon Jetta on Route 81.

The Jetta was later spotted in the East Haven where it engaged East Haven Police in a pursuit, resulting in the Jetta crashing.

The two male suspects, Lavon Young and David Earle, were placed under arrest by East Haven Police Department and later released to troopers.

Connecticut State Police Central District major crime detectives also responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Lavon Young (dob 5/11/79) of New Jersey was transported to Troop F-Westbrook where he was charged with robbery 1st degree, larceny 3rd degree, larceny 6th degree and breach of peace. Young was held on $500,000.00 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on January 29, 2018.

David Earle (dob 7/8/92) of New Jersey was transported to Troop F-Westbrook where he was charged with robbery 1st degree, larceny 3rd degree and breach of peace. Earle was held on $500,000.00 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on Jan. 29.
