Officials Investigating Fatal Killingworth Fire

On Jan. 25 at approximately 9:46 p.m., firefighters, the Killingworth fire marshal, troopers from Troop F-Westbrook, and detectives from the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit responded to 33 Bridle Path Trail in Killingworth for a residential structure fire.

After firefighters extinguished the fire, a deceased victim was located inside the residence.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner  will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine positive identify of the victim and cause and manner of death.

This fire remains under investigation.
