Branford Garden Club Honors Cosgrove, Freeman

The Branford Garden Club (BGC) an award-winning civic organization engaged in a wide variety of community activities, presented some special awards at the club's annual Christmas Luncheon on Dec. 7, 2017.

BGC president Paula Inglese awarded Branford first selectman Jamie Cosgrove an Honorary Membership to BGC, for outstanding contributions to the club. Inglese bestowed the President's Volunteer of the Year Award to Ann Freeman in recognition of her exceptional work on club activities.

The mission of BGC is to stimulate a knowledge and love of gardening, horticulture and floral design; to encourage and support civic development and to promote conservation efforts. BGC is a member of The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc., an educational, charitable non-profit organization made up of approximately 7,000 individual members, about 150 clubs and 15 affiliate organizations.
