Nine North Branford HS Musicians Perform in Regional Music Festival

On Friday Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13, nine North Branford High School (NBHS) musicians took part in the 2018 Southern Region Music Festival (band, choir and orchestra) at Middletown High School.

The festival is one of four regional programs organized annually for the state's top student musicians by the Connecticut Music Educators Association. Student who qualify for the festival are accepted by an adjuctication (audition) process. Auditions for the 2018 Souther Region Music Festival took place at Guilford High School on Nov. 18, 2017. NBHS students competed against against hundreds of students from high schools throughout southern Connecticut.

NBHS student musicians selected for the 2018 festival were Morgan Bailey, Jonathon Buckley, Allie Cristante, Cheyenne Gibilaro, Ian McLay, Collin Ouellet, Brooke Powers, Ashley Slubowski and Brandon Stimpson. 

The festival concluded with a public​ performance on Saturday, January 13, at Middletown High School.
