In May 2017, seeded by a generous kickoff celebration with $500 raised by a Branford realtor and $600 donated by Tito's Vodka, Moxie Restaurant unvieled its "Shelter Me" specialty drink. From that day through the end of October 2017, one dollar from every "Shelter Me" sold at the Madison restaurant was set aside to be donated to the Cosgrove Animal Shelter.

The sales added up to $2,263, said Cosgrove Director Laura Burban, which means the total fundraising effort generated over $3,300 for the no-kill municipal shelter, serving the towns of Branford and North Branford. The funds were delivered in December as a special holiday gift to the shelter.

Burban thanks Moxie and it's "Shelter Me" customers as well as fundraising realtor Michelle Wininger of Branford's MW Realty Group (Keller Williams) and Tito's Vodka, which also donated the vodka for the promotion.

"We raised over $3,300 just by all these amazing people coming together," said Burban.
