12/17/2017 11:00 PMAn Ivoryton resident has been arrested by North Haven Detectives on embezzlement charges.
According to North Haven Police, the majority owner of Naturally Green Lawn Care LLC met with North Haven Detectives in July 2017 to report an embezzlement from the business. An employee/minority owner was taking payments for services directly and then manipulating the business computer system to cover the crime up. Over the next several months detectives worked with the majority owner, wintesses, and accountants analyzing the financial documents.
Investigators learned that longtime employee and minority owner Kevin Miezejeski, 54, of Ivoryton, had been embezzling money for years. Police determined that Miezejeski had stolen around $220,000 between 2015 and 2016.
Miezejeski was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 6 and charged with larceny in the first degree. He posted a court set $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 28.
