When North Haven resident Bill Richards found old photos of the Pratt & Whitney factory in its early days, he decided to donate them to the town. Now, the photos that Richards donated are framed and displayed on the second floor hallway of Town Hall.

Richards said he didn’t think the pictures would be so important to the town, but said it’s a good way to refresh people’s memories or a way for new people to learn about a part of town’s history.

First Selectman Michael Freda said the timing of Richards approaching the town with the pictures was perfect, as it coincided with the announcement that Amazon would be using the land once occupied by Pratt & Whitney.

With the pictures now displayed, Freda said they are not only a symbol of generosity from Richards, but also show how important Pratt & Whitney was to the town.
