Hundreds of cyclists hit the road on Oct. 15 for the ninth annual Vista Tour de Shore cycling event and fundraiser in Westbrook hosted by Vista Life Innovations, a community-based organization dedicated to supporting the personal success of individuals with disabilities.

Featuring 5, 25, 40, and 60-mile routes, this year’s event drew more than 220 cyclists from across the nation. Professional cyclists, casual riders, and everyone in between came together to raise more than $88,500. Net proceeds benefit the Vista Endowment Fund, a supporting organization of Vista Life Innovations.

Professional cyclist Ben Wolfe and multiple representatives from USA Cycling were among those who participated in this year’s event, riding alongside 21 Vista students and members.

More than a fundraiser, the Vista Tour de Shore raises awareness for Vista and individuals with disabilities. The event also helps to foster friendships between Vista members and community members who participate.

Vista would like to thank the Westbrook Elks Lodge and event sponsors Zane’s Cycles, Branford Jewelers, Alexion, Wells Fargo, Thomson Bike Tours, Zip06, Essex Printing, WebNow1, Essex Savings Bank, Pasta Vita, The Tolland Fund, V.P. Electric, Inc., Dignity Plus Home Care, and baramundi software.
