The Clinton Energy Committee recently recognized Gaduns Auto Body, 212 East Main Street, with the “Energy Efficiency Business of the Year” award. The family-owned body shop teamed up with Eversource on a series of energy-saving lighting improvements to reduce its energy consumption and achieve the honor.

LEDs are up to 90 percent more efficient than incandescent lights and reduce the need for frequent replacements. The project was completed through Small Business Energy Advantage, an Energize Connecticut program, administered by Eversource.

In 2013, Clinton joined Clean Energy Communities, the nationally-recognized Energize Connecticut program to help cities and towns save energy and increase the installation of renewable energy. Eversource is currently working with Clinton to reach its energy goals and reduce municipal building energy consumption by 20 percent by 2018.
