CTFRW Holds Biennial Meeting

The Connecticut Federation of Republican Women (CTFRW) held its Biennial meeting on Oct. 1 in Old Saybrook at the Saybrook Point Inn. The event featured a luncheon, speakers, a silent auction, and election of officers and board members. Elected for a two-year term and inducted by National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) President Carrie Almond were Mary Turner of Simsbury, President; Gerri Lewis of Old Saybrook, First Vice President; Linda Johnson of Simsbury, Second Vice President; Madge Fish of Old Saybrook, Third Vice President; Maral Johnson of Simsbury, Fourth Vice President; Sharon Tiezzi of Old Saybrook, Secretary; Michele Potvin-Piecuch of Simsbury, Treasurer; Susan Ray of Simsbury, Deputy Treasurer; Kathleen McCarty of Waterford, Past President; Marianne Landers-Clark of Avon, At-Large; Judy Davies of Lyme, At-Large; and Marge Diachenko of Simsbury, At-Large.

Speakers included Erin Stewart, Mayor of New Britain, and Carrie Almond, President, NFRW. Also present and speaking were J.R. Romano, chairman of the CT GOP, local area state representatives Kathleen McCarty and Devin Carney, and Mark Greenberg, a candidate for State Comptroller in 2018.

The CTFRW welcomes all interested Republican women in Connecticut. Local clubs are located within several Connecticut towns. The statewide group meets for an annual meeting in even years in the spring and a biennial meeting in odd years in the fall. Dues include membership in the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), headquartered in Alexandria, VA.
