11/14/2017 01:30 PMStudents, teachers, parents, town officials, and veterans packed into Jeffrey Elementary School on Nov. 10 for an assembly honoring local veterans and veterans across the country.
Close to 40 veterans attended the ceremony from the VFW Post and the American Legion as well as 25 family members of Jeffrey students—including parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
The day’s program included short essays from fourth graders about a family member who served or what Veterans Day means to them, songs sung by each grade level, and a collection of students playing “Taps” on the recorder.
