To honor the 27 years of service that Dick “Smitty” Smith dedicated to the Town of Deep River, the citizens of his community voted to rename their historic town hall “The Richard H. Smith Town Hall”. In a special event the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 28, a bronze plaque will be presented to the Smith Family that will be placed outside the town hall’s main entrance. Other dedications to be announced.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception will be held in the town hall auditorium to celebrate Smith’s life and legacy. Family, friends, neighbors, and state dignitaries will be attending this memorable gathering, but space is limited.
