Cosgrove Wins Third Term as Branford First Selectman

With a strong show of support, Republican Jamie Cosgrove won a third term as Branford's first selectman in the 2017 municipal election on Nov. 7, besting Democratic opponent Lynda Mollow. Unofficial results as the polls closed on Election Night put Cosgrove over the top with 4,226 votes to a count of 2,714 for Mollow.

Cosgrove returns to the Board of Selectmen with his three-time Republican running mate, Joe Higgins, who received an unofficial total of 3,432 total votes on election night to win a third term as selectman.

Mollow's Democratic running mate, Jack Ahern, was also re-elected as selectman by an unofficial total of 3,405 votes. Ahern will serve his second term on the three-person Board of Selectman.
