Named 2017 Irish Man and Woman of the Year

The New Haven Football & Hurling Club (NHF&HC) presented its Irish Man of the Year award to John McGowan of Branford and its Irish Woman of the Year award to Angelique Burke, a North Branford resident.　

Both were honored at the 34th annual banquet held at Fantasia in North Haven. These awards have been presented since 1985 to men and women who have personified the spirit of the NHF&HC through dedicated contributions to programs and personal promotion of the club's Irish culture. Both of this year's recipients were involved in many areas of youth sports and activities.
