The Carriage House at the Deep River Historical Society was the location for the kick-off of the pre-holiday season with a Bourbon and Bubbles Fundraiser on Nov. 3.

About 30 guests each paid $25 to sample unique bourbons, craft beers, sparkling wine, and even a lineup of craft meads made in Texas. The drinks were provided and served by Shore Liquors and its vendors. Members of the historical society offered an array of hors d’oeuvres to complement the beverages.

All proceeds from the event went towards the society’s mission to preserve Deep River’s history and artifacts.

Next up for the society is an archaeology walk on Saturday, Dec. 2, followed by the Festival of Trees on Saturday, Dec. 9. Local organizations and businesses will be decorating trees and have them on display at the Carriage House in conjunction with the Deep River Merchants Christmas Stroll.
