Few Changes in Deep River Election

While most of Deep River’s races were uncontested, the Nov. 7 election did have two contested races and brought out 958 voters, 27.67 percent of the town’s registered electors.

For Regional School District #4 Board of Education seat, voters chose Richard Daniels, Jr. (D) with 526 votes over Mark E. Grabowski (R) with 354 votes.

District 33’s judge of probate vacancy was sought by Essex attorney Jeannine Lewis (D), who won 610 votes, and Clinton attorney Anselmo Delia (R), who won 262 votes. Lewis was the victor in the regional race.

All other seats were uncontested. Angus McDonald (D) will again serve as first selectman. Duane Gates (D) will return to the Board of Selectmen, serving alongside William Burdick (R).

Republican Amy MacMillan Winchell will again serve as town clerk and Thomas Lindner (R) will serve as treasurer and agent of the School Deposit Fund. Republicans William Ballsieper and John Wichtowski will return to the Board of Finance and Darlene Pollock to the Board of Assessment Appeals.

Democrat Lisa Bibbiani will retain her seat as tax collector.

For the Board of Education, Republicans Nelle Andrews and Mary-Elizabeth Massey and Democrats Lenore Grunko and Robert Ferretti will be seated.
