North Haven Man Arrested for Threatening to Poison Trick-or-Treaters

A North Haven man is under arrest after making threats on his Facebook page to poison trick-or-treaters.

North Haven Detectives received an anonymous tip regarding several alarming statements made by Ronald Przybylo, 57, on his Facebook account. Detectives found disturbing posts and videos that lead them to believe that Przybylo was dangerous.

Among the comments posted by Przybylo were statements that he planned to provide candy filled with rat poison to trick-or-treaters. He referenced several killings from around the country and dubbed himself the Halloween Lunatic.

Upon responding to Przybylo's Saint John Street home, officers found the home's floors and furniture to be completely covered with animal urine and feces. North Haven Animal Control and the Quinnipiac Valley Health Department also responded to assist police. Three dogs, three cats, and an Amazon African bird were removed from the home for health precautions.

Przybylo was charged with breach of peace in the second degree and seven counts of animal cruelty. He was held on a $10,000 bond.

Maryellen Przybylo was also charged with seven counts of animal cruelty and released on a $2,500 bond. She will appear in Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 9.
