Bi-Partisan Budget Reverses Nearly All of $8M North Branford Education Funding Cut

North Branford will be removed from the education cost spending chopping block with the new bi-partisan state budget, which reverses nearly $8 million in education cost cuts that would have been imposed under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's executive order.

The states two-year budget was passed today by a bi-partisan, veto-proof vote (see related stories). Under the new budget, North Branford, which received $8,076,776 in 2017, will receive $7,672,937 in 2018 and $7,610,958 in 2019.

Under Gov. Malloy's executive order, North Branford was set to lose over $7 million in 2018 and only receive $807,678 for education cost spending.
