Petitioning Candidate Anthony Paul Fronte Seeks First Office in BOS Run

There’s a petitioning candidate for selectman on the ballot this year: Anthony Paul Fronte. Fronte, 48, said that while he likes the way the town is being run currently, the fact that he is younger than other candidates could be a benefit by adding a different perspective to the mix.

Fronte lives in town with his wife and three children. All his children have gone through or are going through North Haven Public Schools, and he has coached football and soccer in the past.

As a security manager at Yale who formerly worked as a project manager for a construction company, he feels his background will benefit to the town. He said that when he was a project manager, he dealt with things like scheduling and budgeting for multi-million-dollar projects.

One issue Fronte wants to focus on is education—he said the education system is not what it was when he was a student, and that he wants to help bring academic opportunities and performance back up.

With the new businesses that have recently come to town, Fronte thinks there should be more police and fire protection added to ensure safety. He also said that he’d like to continue to see more business come in, specifically small business, saying that there are areas on northern Washington Avenue and Universal Drive that can be filled in.

Though he hasn’t been involved in politics before, he said it would be a good experience for him to be able to help the town.
