Write-In Candidate Ben Liberatore Feels Westbrook’s Potential is Unfulfilled

Ben Liberatore decided early in October to compete for the first selectman slot by launching a write-in campaign; his campaign signs were already posted around town last week.

Liberatore, a resident of Westbrook since 1997, believes the potential of the town is unfulfilled.

If elected first selectman, “I would see this as an opportunity to move Westbrook into a responsible growing community,” said Liberatore. “To revitalize the business climate of Westbrook, we need to retain the business we have while incurring new business that benefit our community.”

A second goal would to encourage a better business tax base and improve town infrastructure by seeking innovative partnerships with the private and public sectors.

For government, he would like to spur more transparency and citizen involvement by publicizing government affairs on the cable public access channel. If elected, he commits to having an open door policy with set hours for residents to come in to voice ideas and issues.

Liberatore’s work background includes experience working as a Connecticut State Trooper (including serving previously as Westbrook Resident Trooper) and as a former chief of police. He holds a bachelors degree in management and as a community volunteer, has served on Boards for the Westbrook Youth & Family Services agency, the Westbrook Juvenile Review Board, and the Emergency Management Board.

Those seeking to cast their vote for Liberatore must clearly print his full name on their ballot.
