10/12/2017 12:01 AMRobert Gradoville, the son of Lyndle and Robert Gradoville of North Haven, wed Esperanza Garcia, the daughter of Alma Garcia of San Jose, California, on Aug. 4 under the redwoods in Berkeley Botanical Gardens in Berkeley, California.
In attendance were three bridesmaids, Lily Mendelson, Diana Dunn. and Emily Orr. Matt Wong was a bridesman. Groomsmen included two best men, Bryan Enslein and Russ Gerstacker, and Ed Fowler, Zach Martin, and Mike Newman (all childhood friends from North Haven). Maryam Toossi, a mutual Peace Corps friend, officiated at the ceremony.
The reception was held under the redwoods again in Stern Grove in San Francisco, California.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of the University of Nevada (Reno) with a degree in health ecology, and from St. Luke’s College in Kansas City, Missouri with a B.S. in nursing (2015). She is currently employed as a R.N. at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of North Haven High School, Bucknell University (2007) with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, and the University of Pittsburgh (2011) with an M.S. in civil engineering. He is currently employed as a portfolio manager at IDEO.org in New York City while living in Rochester.
The bride and groom met in the Dominican Republic while both were volunteering for the Peace Corps from 2007 to 2009.
