EHHS Co-Op Marching Band Wins First Two Competitions of Season

The East Haven High School (EHHS) Co-Op Marching Band is off to a great start, winning first place in its first two competitions.

The first competition was on Sept. 23 at Veteran’s Field in Naugatuck. The team scored a 77.625, edging out Shelton High School by a point and a half to take first place in their group. The band also won caption awards for Best Music, Best Visuals, and Best Overall Effect.

On Sept. 30 at McVicar Field at Rocky Hill High School, the EHHS Co-Op Band improved upon it score from the previous week, garnering an 81.025 to beat out the three other bands in its group, with a 3.625 point lead against the second place band, The Gilbert School. EHHS Co-Op also received caption awards for Best Music, Best Visuals, and Best Overall Effect. A total of 13 bands competed that day, in various groups; EHHS Co-Op scored the highest of them all.
