09/28/2017 12:01 AMOn June 5, the Westbrook Elks Lodge #1784 hosted a spaghetti dinner for the winners of the Americanism essay contest and their families. The students wrote a short essay on the importance of voting.
Every year, Elks lodges hold essay contests for middle school students. Participants can win local lodge awards, Connecticut State Elks association awards, and may go onto the Elks Grand Lodge national contest.
