Former Hepburn Fenwick Estate Sold for $11.5 Million

Paradise

is sold.

On Aug. 25, the former Katharine Hepburn estate at 10 Mohegan Avenue called Paradise

was sold by Water III LLC for $11.5 million to Jacqueline and Barry Gosin. The two parcels that comprise the estate, one with the house and the other, with the pond and natural area, yielded $27,500 in conveyance taxes paid to the Town of Old Saybrook as a result of this transaction.

The residence was extensively renovated by developers Frank and Barbara Sciame in 2005. The 8,368 square foot home has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

The Sciames, via Water III LLC, also own 102A and 102B Sequassen Avenue in Fenwick, according to town records. Each of these Sequassen properties hold a one-half ownership interest in the Saybrook Breakwater Lighthouse, a lighthouse that was sold by the federal government recently as surplus property.
