The following residents were named to the dean’s, president’s, and/or merit lists at their respective colleges and universities for the spring 2017 semester, unless otherwise noted. The student’s class year is that which pertained at the time of the achievement.
• Colgate University: Dana Monz.
• College of the Holy Cross: Madeline Fitzgerald, a first-year student majoring in psychology and English.

Academic and Extracurricular Achievements
• Barbara M. Hoffmann, a graduate of North Haven High School’s Class of 1997, earned her doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Irish and Australian literature on May 11 from the University of Miami. In addition to her teaching assistantship, Dr. Hoffmann was awarded the University of Miami English Department Excellence in Research Award and 2016 Summer Research Fellowship. She will teach at Miami Dade College in the fall. Her parents are John and Susan Hoffmann of North Haven.
• Alexander Mucci graduated from Hofstra University with a B.A. in criminology.
• Derrick John Russo received a B.S. in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Rhode Island.
• Evan Stockmon, the son of Ted Stockmon of North Haven and the late Kathleen Adams of Ledyard, graduated from the University of Connecticut’s School of Business with a degree in information systems management. Stockmon will begin his career with United Health Care in Boston in June.
• University of Hartford Graduates: Daniel Lye, Dawn Morgan-Gray, Aedan O’Brien, and Iris Tao.
• University of New Haven Graduates: Nicholas Iott, Jeremy Meurice, Kristen Mezzanotte, James Piscitelli, Alexandra Sgro, and Matthew Vastarelli.
• Goy Voladate presented an oral presentation titled “Organic Foods: Issue and Challenges” at the third annual CREATE Conference at Eastern Connecticut State University.
• Worcester Polytechnic Institute Graduates: John DeCusati (B.S. in electrical and computer engineering with high distinction), David Goodrich (B.S. in electrical and computer engineering), and Jesse Otis (M.S. in systems engineering).
