Community Support for Danny the Dog

On Aug. 15, Danny the dog arrived at the East Haven Animal Shelter after he was struck by a car on Frontage Road.

It’s not known if Danny was thrown or jumped out of the car he was travelling in but he was then struck by another car on the road. The Shelter sought out the dog’s owners, however no one came forward and Danny had surgery to have one leg amputated.

The East Haven Animal Shelter thanks the community for its support, including a retired EHPD officer and his brother who donated $500 for Danny’s care. The shelter reports that Danny is recovering well and will hopefully be ready for a new home soon.
