This past winter, two members of the North Haven Historical Society and Museums were honored with presentations of patriotic quilts. The quilts were awarded to Dave Cavadini and William Yopp in recognition of their service during World War II and the Korean War. These handcrafted quilts were presented by Jane Doughterty of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. This nationally known foundation gives quilts to veterans in accordance with their mission “to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.”

Dave Cavadini is a veteran of the World War II and longtime member of the North Haven Historical Society and Museums. William (Dubby) Yopp is a veteran of both the World War II and the Korean War. He is also a member of the society. Both men still visit the historical society headquarters and occasionally share stories of their wartime experiences.
