08/17/2017 12:01 AMLeon Chmielewski of Madison, an elected artist, was awarded Best of Show at the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) 2017 Exhibition at the Mystic Museum of Art. CAFA’s mission is to encourage artistic achievement and excellence in the arts while recognizing a diversity of style and medium. Established in 1910, CAFA celebrated its 106th year by recognizing artists from New England, New York, Pennsylvania, and Germany. More than 400 pieces were submitted, 131 pieces selected, and 12 were chosen for an award.
