At a brief Town Meeting held on July 25, the two questions proposed for elector action on the call were approved.

The first was to appropriate $123,000 “for the purpose of performing lead abatement and reconstruction of the Youth & Family Services building located at 322 Main Street.” The funds will be taken from the town’s Municipal Reserve Fund.

The second action was to approve, upon the recommendation of the Board of Selectmen and with the approval of the Planning Commission, a grant of a non-exclusive driveway easement over property of the Town of Old Saybrook to Robert F. and Jean F. Hester, Trustees for the driveway access to the residential premises situated at and known as 108 Boston Post Road. The easement area is 17 feet in width and parallel to the easterly boundary line of the Hesters’ property.
