Republican Primary for Saybrook Probate District

Based on petitions filed by the Aug. 9 deadline with local Town Clerks’ offices, the fall 2017 election ballots will now include several petitioning candidates who will compete with party-endorsed candidates to fill open seats. Town clerks in the nine-town Saybrook District also were notified by the Connecticut Secretary of the State’s Office last Wednesday that Kevin Hecht of Old Saybrook had qualified to primary Anselmo Delia of Clinton for the Republican nomination for probate court judge.

This is a special election that was triggered when current Judge of Probate Terrance D. Lomme reached the official judge retirement age of 70 in the middle of his term. The Republican primary for the Judge of Probate nomination will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The Saybrook Court District serves nine towns: Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook.
