Get Ready to Race: Clinton’s Bluefish 5K

On Saturday, Aug. 12, upwards of 400 runners are expected to take part in the 20th annual Steward’s Ace Hardware Bluefish 5K Road Race organized by the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and Shoreline Community Women, Inc.

The 5K (3.1-mile) race course begins and ends at the Jared Eliot Middle School on 69 Fairy Dell Road in Clinton. ace day registrations begin at 7:30 a.m.; the race starts at 9 a.m. For safety, the Clinton Police Department will close the race route to vehicles from 9 and 10 a.m.

Registration is $30 from Sunday, Aug. 6 through race day; registration forms are available at www.clintonct.com/road-race, from participating sponsors, or at the Clinton Chamber of Commerce on 50 East Main Street, Clinton, CT 06413. Online registration is also available at www.active.com.

The money raised from this year’s race will directly benefit Shoreline Community Women and the Clinton Chamber of Commerce to benefit the community through free events, donations, and programs that both organizations provide throughout the year.

The race includes a certified track, free bag check-in, swag bags, prizes in several categories. There will be multiple vendors on-site, including pre- and post-race massage. Free parking is available at The Joel School and Peters Complex on Glenwood Road; shuttle buses will run continuously from 7:30 until 8:45 a.m., when registration closes.
