To remind all who enter Town Hall of years of community efforts to preserve open space, a new painting depicts a scene from one of the town’s first protected areas, the Great Cedars Conservation Area.

The landscape painting is the product of local artist David Brown. A decade ago, Robert and Sallie Boody purchased the work from Gallery One.

After a major renovation project at their home left them with no place to hang it, Robert and Sallie Boody decided to donate it to the town.

“It’s for the townspeople to enjoy. We should be proud of what we [as a community] have saved,” said Robert Boody, referring to the town’s dedicated open space protection efforts.
