The Daytime Gardeners of North Haven held its annual meeting at the home of Sally and Walter Brockett, president and treasurer respectively. The new yearbook pages were distributed to all and plans were discussed for projects in the coming year. The main objective of the gathering was a tour of the Brockett’s beautifully cultivated acreage with both vegetable and flower gardens in abundance—no weeds allowed.

The extensive perennial garden was planned to have consecutive blooming throughout the season. Sally explained that the vegetable garden provides an abundance of produce for the family, and the 30 year-old blueberry bushes fill the freezer with 15 to 20 gallons of berries each year.

The luncheon was a potluck supplied by the members and enjoyed by all. Daytime Gardeners of North Haven is a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of CT and National Garden Clubs, Inc. The club is actively seeking additional participants to their activities.
