• Kimberly Allen has been appointed to the position of business manager by the Chester, Deep River, Essex, and Region 4 Public Schools.

• Todd E. Andrews has been named Centerbrook Architects & Planners’ newest principal. Andrews came to Centerbrook in 1996 upon graduation from Syracuse University School of Architecture. A resident of Deep River, Andrews’s diverse design experience includes buildings that support and enhance education, learning, research, worship and community. A principal focus has been his work on more than 20 projects at world-renowned Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

Andrews joins the firm’s principal group that includes Jefferson B. Riley, Mark Simon, Chad Floyd, and Jim Childress. He is the first new principal to join the firm’s ownership since Childress in 1996.

“Todd’s leadership and refined design skills are invaluable assets to our clients and the firm,” Childress said. “We look forward to Todd sharing his talent, expertise and enthusiasm with us for years to come.”

Centerbrook also announced that associate principals Justin Hedde and Elizabeth Hedde of Stonington will join the five principals as part of the firm’s senior leadership team.

“Like Todd, Justin and Beth have emerged as the future of our firm,” Childress said. “Not only are they talented designers, but they eagerly pursue opportunities to take the firm to the next level.”

Former managing partner of Spear Consultants Ltd. and CEO and founder of BrightDoor Systems, Inc., Spear previously partnered with the Overabove team on successful sales and marketing engagements including Homestead Preserve in Virginia and New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Resort.

“Joining Overabove gives me a great opportunity to apply the lessons I’ve learned in real estate sales and marketing to a wide variety of Overabove clients,” said Spear, who notes the firm is also developing targeted strategies for Fortune 500 high-tech companies.

In addition to cultivating new business opportunities for Overabove, Spear is closely involved in Overabove’s work on strategic marketing for Wildlight, a new community being developed by Rayonier’s community development subsidiary Raydient People + Places.
