07/26/2017 01:17 PMJuly 26, 2017: Back for the fourth year, A Hogwarts Halloween at Blackstone Library happens for one weekend only this fall. On October 14 and 15, children ages six and up can experience the magic as the library is transformed into Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. If you've ever dreamed of visiting Hogwarts, walking its hallowed halls, and climbing its winding stairs, this is your chance!
All proceeds from A Hogwarts Halloween at Blackstone will support the programs and services offered by the James Blackstone Memorial Library.
A Hogwarts Halloween for Kids
Children attending one of four available daytime sessions will get the feeling they truly have entered the halls of Hogwarts. Upon arrival, children will be escorted by Prefects to the Great Hall, where they will be greeted by Professor McGonagall. From there, attendees will take classes in Charms, Potions, and Divination. This year's school session also involves an escape challenge – Dolores Umbridge has been known to lock an entire class out of the Hogwarts building and onto the Hogwarts grounds. It will be up to each class to work together to solve the clues and find the magic key that opens the door back into Hogwarts proper! And, of course, no one will leave without their wand from Ollivander's Wand Shop personally matched by Ollivander.
These sessions are drop-off only, with Prefects escorting the children through their two hours of classes. Admission is $30 per child. Costumes are encouraged. For children ages six and up. Visit blackstonelibrary.org here to reserve your child's place. Choose from four available sessions:
Saturday, October 14, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Sunday, October 15, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Submit a caption for our T-Shirt Caption contest – if selected, your chosen caption will appear on this year's souvenir T-shirt. You'll receive a T-shirt and 2 tickets to a session of your choice! Entries should be fun, not too lengthy, and have instant book recognition. Past year's captions have included, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good," and "I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me." T-shirts are available for pre-order online, and during the event. Supplies are limited, Pre-ordering is suggested to ensure you get the size you want.
Submit your T Shirt Caption entry to blackstonehalloween@gmail.com, and be sure to include your name, age, town, phone number, and email address. Entries must be submitted by August 31. Winner will be chosen by Hogwarts faculty and announced in September. By entering the contest, you agree that your name and image may be used in promotional materials for James Blackstone Memorial Library and A Hogwarts Halloween at Blackstone.
