Jordan Clemente was designated as the 2017 recipient of the Connie Bombaci Service Award during the Haddam-Killingworth High School’s Senior Awards Ceremony. This year’s award was presented to Jordan because of her outstanding efforts in helping others. She dedicated herself in almost 500 hours of working with H-K Youth Family Services young children, volunteering as a lifeguard, co-chairing the Healthy Communities Healthy Kids Coalition, developing plans for a permanent drug take-back program, and responding to other important issues that will make the community safer.

This award was established by the former Superintendent and the Board of Education in 2006 as a means to recognize Bombaci’s exceptional service to the school district over her years of commitment and devotion to the students, staff, and H-K community. This annual award is presented to a member of the graduating class who has demonstrated significant and genuine dedication to voluntary service to the Haddam-Killingworth High School and its community as selected by the Bombaci family and its committee. It was Bombaci’s belief that all students learn to give back to their school and community for all that they have received, and this award’s purpose is to ensure that the heart of “paying it forward” will continue to be present in the high school for many years to come.

Jordan plans to attend Iona College to earn a degree in speech pathology.
