A Notable Tree in Branford

Community Forest Commission Inaugurates New Awareness Effort

To increase public awareness of the importance of the town's trees, the Community Forest Commission (CFC) for the Town of Branford is pleased to announce its inaugural Branford Notable Tree: an American Elm (Ulnus americanus) located at the corner of Montowese Street and Averill Place near the town center.

It is a beautiful native shade tree which has a circumference of 152 inches, height of 75 feet and average [crown] spread of 75 feet. The CFC hopes to periodically share photos and information of additional Branford Notable Trees.  If you would like to nominate a Branford Notable Tree, please email llr26@ymail.com
