06/22/2017 12:01 AMAt the opening reception of the 42nd annual Madison Art Society Juried Show, Guilford artist Joseph Roberti won the Best in Show award, which was donated by Davis Realty in Madison. Titled February, Roberti’s piece is a combination of two images, both inspired by natural elements in his yard. The initial image is an embossing on watercolor paper of the branches of a dogwood tree. The second, superimposed image is done in colored pencil, rendering a pattern of snow pits seen in winter. The Madison Art Society awarded almost $3,000 in prizes and awards.
