A West Haven man is facing charges following a stabbing incident involving two men in Clinton yesterday. Anthony Magaraci, 56, of 156 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, was charged with first- and second-degree assault.

On Sunday, May 28 at approximately 7:55 p.m., the Clinton Police Department responded to 28 River Road on a complaint of a disturbance in which two individuals had been stabbed. Officers from the Clinton and Madison Police departments responded to the scene. Upon arrival, the two stabbing victims were located. Members of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department EMS responded to the scene and treated the victims and then transported them to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were serious in nature but not considered life-threatening.

It was learned the suspect had fled the scene along with a female companion in a white VW Passat (CT REG. 7AM KM5). Investigators from Clinton and Madison processed the crime scene and broadcast information to other law enforcement agencies in an attempt to locate the suspects.

The vehicle and the suspects were located in Windsor at a location just off of Interstate 91. Officers of the Windsor Police Department were able to take the pair into custody, without incident. They were then transported to Clinton Police Headquarters for arrest processing. The female passenger in Magaraci’s vehicle was not charged with any crime and was released.

The victims in this case are both white males and are 45 years of age. Their names are being withheld.

Magaraci is currently being held on a $500,000 bond, and will be arraigned at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on Tuesday, May 30.
