This afternoon at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown, Francisco Moran, 59, of Clinton was found guilty on all charges by a jury following a criminal trial after being previously accused of sexual assault.

Moran, a pastor with The Good Samaritan Church in Old Lyme, was arrested in April 2015 by the Clinton Police Department following a lengthy investigation in which Moran was accused of sexually assaulting some of his female parishioners, including a juvenile.

Moran was found guilty of sexual assault in the second degree, sexual assault in the fourth degree (two counts), risk of injury to a minor (three counts), and coercion (two counts).

Upon reaching a guilty verdict, the court ordered Moran to forfeit his passport, and he was remanded into custody of the Department of Corrections. Moran is currently being held on a $2 million bond. As of this time a date for his sentencing is unknown.
