Each year for Memorial Day the Veterans Day Parade Committee seeks help from the boys and girls scout troops and town residents to help place flags at the graves of those that served in the military.

There are over 1700 graves in the seven cemeteries in Branford: St. Agnes, Center, Tabor, St. Mary's, Damascus, Mill Plain and Stony Creek. Recently, members of Troop 428, Cadets and Juniors of Troop 60369 and Daisies from Troop 60912 recently placed flags at Center Cemetery on Montowese Street. Members of the Branford Elks Club and a number of citizens volunteered as well.
