Outgoing Power Squadron District Commander Art Andrea of East Haven recently accepted a plaque presented by National Chief Commander Louie Ojeda to recognize his service to District 1 of the United States Power Squadrons, “America’s Boating Club,” at the district’s spring conference held at the Coast Guard Academy in New London. Andrea is a past commander of New Haven Sail and Power Squadron, which meets at Pequonnock Yacht Club in New Haven.

The United States Power Squadrons is the world’s largest recreational boating organization with more than 35,000 members. For more than 100 years, it has worked to make the water a safer place through boating education, civic service, and fellowship.
