04/26/2017 09:27 AMThe North Haven Education Foundation will hold its third annual Adult Spelling Bee on Thursday, April 27 in the North Haven High School Auditorium. While the event is free, the foundation suggests a $5 donation.
Proceeds from the event will be used as grant money that schools from around town can request to be used for school materials and field trips.
The bee raised $7,000 the first year, $17,000 the next year, and has a goal of $25,000 this year. The Fire Department’s team won last year, and the foundation expects close to 30 teams competing this year.
The event starts at 6 p.m. and features free pizza and a dessert made by the high school Culinary Department.
