Branford Residents, Start Your Kindergartner

Pre-K, Kindergarten Registration Sessions May 2 - 4

Branford Public Schools (BPS) is encouraging residents of incoming pre-K (age four before January 1, 2018) and kindergartners (age five before January 1, 2018) to register at the school their child will be attending for the 2017-18 school year, during sessions taking place at each of the town's three elementary schools May 2 – May 4.

Branford elementary schools assign students to school buildings based on home address. Residents who are unsure of the school assigned to their address can find their Branford elementary school district by street listing in the related document posted with this story. Branford's three public elementary schools (grades Pre-K – 4) are John B. Sliney School (23 Eades St.); Mary T. Murphy School (14 Brushy Plain Road) and Mary R. Tisko School (118 Damascus Road).   Registration for 2017-18 Pre-K and Kindergarten students will be open at each building on Tuesday, May 2 from 9 – 11 a.m.; Wednesday May 3 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Thursday, May 4 from 5 – 7 p.m.

At the time of registration, BPS requires parents or guardians bring the following: two utility bills in occupant's name (copies), current lease agreement or mortgage receipt (plus a copy), copy of custody agreement (if applicable), child's birth certificate with the raised seal (plus a copy of the certificate), child's current physical using Connecticut's HAR-3 form (exam dated from Sept. 2016 to Sept.  2017, must list all immunizations).
